I've known a couple people that did this, but I wouldn't do it personally. They liked how smooth it made their arms feel, or thought they had too much hair on their arm. I kinda like the hair on my arm, the way it stands on edge when I'm cold. Shaving it seems tedious to me, so I don't. I think it's just a matter of preference.
